Success and direct selling was a family affair for AtHome co-founders and sisters, Lisa Brandau and Becky Wright, who grew up in the south suburbs of Chicago. Their mother, Alma was a very successful distributor for Queen’s Way Home Fashions. As children, they helped their mom with her Queen’s Way business by stamping home decor stores catalogs and occasionally modeling fashions at her in-home presentation.

In 2002, The Country Peddlers and Company of America changed its name to AtHome America. While the product line continued to include country collectibles, it expanded to offer a wider variety of home-decorating accessories in different styles to meet the needs of more people. The company also introduced online shopping.
